disable imap account temporarily

Is it possible to temporarily disable an account, so no Synchronization takes place?
The background is that the server of the provider has to be completely crashed and rebuilt.
The mailboxes would therefore be empty.
If now Aquamail connects to the server would be the mail deleted sync on my phone.

Workaround - change in the app the account password and app can't connect. .
