How do I get the widget similar to the Aquamail icon
« on: January 10, 2019, 04:37:36 pm »
Hi,

I started to use the Aquamail widget to show the unread number of email on my Samsung S9 (with Android 9). But the widget icon is very small compared with the other icons on my homescreen, and this does not look very nice.

In the image you see the widget and the Icon from Aquamail itself (+ 2 google app icons).

Does somebody know how can I make the widget icon (left top) to have a similar size as the other icons?
And is it possible to make it look like the Auqamial icon itself?

App icons are rendered by the phone (its launcher app).

There is no "standard" - the appearance and alignment varies from phone to phone.

Widgets are rendered by apps themselves.

Android does not provide a "style" (or whatever) to make widgets look like the launcher's app icons.

We can try, and I've made changes over the years, but there can never be a perfect match.

I do not think it has to be a perfect match. But now it just looks bad. It is much smaller than the other icons. I have tried also other widgets, and they do not look so small.
So I hope that you are able to make it look better. If it looks similar to the current Aquamail icon it would be even better.

Is there any news on the widget size issue?
