When sharing links from Chrome using the "Share..." menu I've noticed that my frequent Aquamail contacts show up in the gray area at the top portion of Chrome's share menu (the "direct share" area.) Since I often email links to myself, my own contact would always show up as a "direct share" option; when I clicked on my own contact Aquamail would open a draft email addressed to myself with the link as the body text.  Very convenient.  Recently, my own contact stopped appearing as a direct share option, though other frequently used contacts still show up.  Any idea why?  My understanding is that the "direct share" menu items are generated by the receiving app that is "receiving" the shared content.  Thanks.

The code shows either starred contacts, or if there are none, pulls from all contacts sorted by "last contacted time", limited to a certain number.

My guess is that you've got some starred contacts with emails so it's the former, and that your own address is not "starred" anymore for some reason.

Yes, you are correct.  I starred my contact and lo, it is once again presented as a "direct share" option.  Many thanks as always.  Your outstanding support and attention to user queries adds great value to your already outstanding email app.  Thanks again.

Hello dears,

Sorry for reactivating an old topic but it's the only one talking about my problem.

Indeed, starring my own contact made it appears in the "Share to" menu.

But I don't really want to star me, because it has effects in many other places where it's not welcome.

I don't understand why two of my contacts to whom I never write emails are in the list...
I sometimes call/SMS them, but not that much.
Is there any way to manage this list ?

Can you explain me on which "contact times" exactly they are filtered?

Thanks a lot!

The list of contacts is managed by Android.

We query Android Contacts and ask for starred contacts with emails.

If we get fewer than 8, we also query "recently contacted" contacts with emails, sorting by "number of times contacted, descending order".

This is slightly off-topic, but I also want to note that in Android Contacts it is possible to select a default email address for each contact --- open the contact and long-press on the email you want to make the default, then select the "make default" option.  Once you get the correct contacts to appear in the Android "direct share" menu...setting the default ensures your share is addressed to the correct (i.e. default) email address.
