SMTP Settings

Love AquaMail!  Having a problem with the settings for the SMTP server name mysteriously changing.  I use Roadrunner and have set up both the POP 3 and SMTP server settings manually.  My SMTP server address is supposed to be smtp-server.cfl.rr.com, but it keeps being changed to mobile-server.roadrunner.com.

The account setup screen will re-fill the settings from its preset data if you press Next (and *should* not do that if you press Manual).

However, since this comes up quite often, this logic has been redone for the next update -- the autofill will be only applied during initial account setup.

And btw, I took "mobile-smtp.roadrunner.com" from Android's built-in Email app, is that the wrong server? Please let me know so I can change the preset too.

My brother bought the app and whenever he goes to sever settings the previous customized information is changed (in this case the SMTP port).
So something might have been wrong. The account setup needs better handling IMO. Something like Thunderbird that tries different host names and ports during initial wizard configuration.

The proper server is mobile-smtp.roadrunner.com

@jcasares -- is your brother using 1.2.2? I can't reproduce it on that version.

@KenJAARS -- that's the server name I'm using in the preset, thank you.

The help page has examples of both "smtp-server.roadrunner.com" and "smtp-server.<domain here>.rr.com", so I'm lost.

Could someone try to get an official answer from their support?

I don't think so as I tested that with my brother like 4 weeks ago.
Need to check with him if it's still happening.
For me it doesn't happen anymore (I had the port for my SMTP changed as well when I entered settings.

I am the one who originally opened this thread last month.  The problem was addressed immediately and totally corrected.  For some reason, I seem to have forgotten my manners and neglected to come back and say thank-you, so, here it is: thank-you ...nicely done :-)
