Navigation with multiple accounts screwed up
« on: October 21, 2018, 11:04:33 am »
The latest release makes no sense to me why now it takes more clicks and user input then previous version to accomplish a simple task.

If you want to switch from smart forlder to a specific account, you click on the account but now it closes that navigate page and you have to open it all over again. Every time you switch between accounts it closes. This is not an improvement. Why regress like this and make it less efficient? If it's not double clicking to exit the app and making changes to fix that than it's this. These changes need to be rolled back. Worst update yet.

Yes it does and it always did.

You just switched from smart folder to "some" account's message list, why keep the navigation drawer (side panel) open and in your way "in front of" the message list you want to see?

Re: These changes need to be rolled back.

If "hiding the account list" is not your cup of tea - you can turn this off in app settings -> look and feel.

But it has no effect on the nav drawer closing after you switch accounts / smart folder. It always did and it doesn't make any sense to keep it open.

Not true, you totally missed my point, your assuming that when you switch account you want to go straight to the inbox of that account. Not everyone including myself wants to go straight to the inbox. I want to go to deleted items folder or sent, but now with this change with no option to go back without requiring to press the back button twice to exit the app has made this app less efficient. If you chose the old option in look and feel you are forced to press back twice = less efficient. If you choose the new option than you have to open the drawer again after switching accounts just to get to the other folders = less efficient again.

So not so efficient with this latest release. Love to hear the excuse for ramming this down our throats.

By the way this new release still didn't fix the black backtcolor bug for html editor I reported and you said would be fixed in next release. Don't know why I bother giving input.

Re: Love to hear the excuse for ramming this down our throats

Just not interested in discussing anything with you anymore - in this kind of language.

Will just say one thing - "ramming down our throats" for an optional setting that can be left turned off (I'm talking about the new "hide account list screen" option) seems.... excessive.

Re: didn't fix the black backtcolor bug for html editor

That is true too.

I can't think of a way to "fix" it, so it's a "documented limitation" rather than a "bug".

Now you can insult me again - call me "world's lamest excuse for a developer" or something. Be creative.

Way to dodge the problem.

Let's evaluate the facts, you created a change that made the app less efficient and now you don't want to engage.

You made an assumption the change does not affect users which was wrong.

You forced this change without the option to choose a more efficient way of using this app.

Am I missing anything? I explained how your assumption is wrong, how it is less efficient by having to do more swipes to get to the same place as prior release.

Are you mad that I pointed out a deficiency?

No you are not lame, your word not mine. However your assumption again in this case and how you implemented Priority Notification by completely ignoring years of user feedback displays arrogrance. We users care just as much about this app as you, so don't get butt hurt and put your pride and ego aside and help develope this app into a great app by listening to user feedback.

Cat got your tongue all of a sudden! Or you going to call this inefficiency a "documented limitation" too and force it on us like the other I'll advised changes and ignore user feedback?
