This version has one bug, the start-up splash screen is snow white. Prior versions were/are true black. Please fix.

Actually it's not white. It's light gray. And it's not a bug.

This color is "fixed", "baked into" the app.

Previously it was black - which was annoying with light themes.

Not it's a gray - which is better for light themes and hopefully not that bad for  dark themes.

It's called "a compromise".

Why was a true black splash screen annoying with light themes?

The gray (almost white) splash screen hurts the eyes when opening the app IMO. Especially in dark venues.

Can you compile a version with a true black splash screen for me? Please. Please. Please. 🙏

It's the screen that shows while the application's window is starting up. Just a solid color fill.

Used to be black - recently changed it to gray so it's less of a "omg I'm going to poke my eyes out with a rusty spoon" effect with light themes (and the default theme is light).

That being said, we'll monitor user complaints and may revert to black or (more likely) adjust to a darker gray.

Bad thing is - this color has to be "baked into" the app - Android uses it *before* any of app's code is executed (so we can't just go "if (dark theme) { use black } else { use light gray }"

That's exactly how the gray (almost white) feels with the dark theme! Which is a downgrade IMO. AquaMail had the best dark theme. Well, had. Please make a poll and ask the dark theme connoisseurs. I bet my right hand they'll agree.

If copy and paste worked in version 1.16. for small screen devices, I wouldn't mind using prior versions instead.

Keep in mind, my device is low budget only 1gb RAM so apps get force closed quite often thus I see this annoying shiny bright splash screen a lot!

@rebel - you completely ignored the fact that there are light themes too (and one of them is the default). And black doesn't go well with light.

I specifically picked AquaMail for its dark theme. If I wanted snow white, I'd have picked any other email app. :/

Gone. Replaced by "hide account list" which is new in this version.
