Is the change easily reversible - (show to hide) and (hidden to show)? Haven't tried yet but wanted to check before jumping in.

I think that helps clean up an "extra" screen nicely. However, the settings button is kind of hidden at the bottom of the side panel because of the long list of options for the smart folder. I used to access the settings when in the account list screen. Perhaps, that long option list could be moved into a setting category so that one need not scroll thru them all to get to the settings button.

I wonder, how to open account-specific settings with a hidden account list?

This setting (screenshot) to be disabled/changed/greyed (it's a complex behavior) when account list view is disabled (cf. previous suggestion of removing the title "accounts" and leave account icons)

No :) The "hide account list view" can be enabled even if there is more than one account.

And then this panel is the only way to switch between accounts (and smart folder, which is also useful if one account has more than one folder).

I have a shortcut that opens the smart folder directly. However now when I exit I now go to the account list instead of exiting the application entirely. How can I exit the application Byerly instead of going to the account list?

Are you using two panel layout?

Did you confirm or decline the prompt to "hide the account list view"?

Would you please show again the separation line between account and message list panels in tablet mode (see screenshot)?
In the new version, there's no separation between the 2 panels (a blank line having replaced the grey one), and this "permeability" between the two panels is disturbing me as a user.

I don't think it was intentional. If it changed in this version - then it's a bug.

We'd have to investigate.

Thank you for the quick response somehow when I open directly to the smart list I never got the prompt to hide the account list. I now hit the account list and and now when I go out of the smart list I go out of the application entirely.

Sorry I'm confused.

First you were supposed to get the prompt - unless you're using two panel (side by side) layout. If you're not using two panel layout - this is a bug. We'll investigate.

Second, I understand you *do want* the app to close if you tap Back from message list (smart message list)?

Please see app settings -> look and feel -> enable "hide account list view".

Sorry for the confusion.  Hopefully I can state it more clearly.

I don't use the two panel view.  The firs time I went in, as I now recall, it was immediately after the upgrade - and I chose to open the app (from the post upgrade dialogue).  I didn't see the prompt.

Second, I now enabled the "hide account list view" and all is good.  The app closes after I tap Back from the message list (smart message list).

So, the only issue of any significance is the lack of the prompt when I first upgraded.  Now (after making the configuration change) everything is  perfect.

Glad to hear it!

Nav drawer, manage accounts (similar to Gmail -- and many other email apps).
If nav drawer is disabled, click on folder name, then manage accounts.
Okay, but:
In this way (if the option 'Hide the account list view' is enabled) the user must tap for four times instead of one 'long-press' on account name to come to account settings... mmh 🤔

"hard" errors (login, "persistent network errors") are displayed. Or supposed to be.

But I assume you're talking about "last sync time" and "last sync time in *red* when there are errors".

Yes it would be a good idea to show them "somehow" / "somewhere". I agree.
