Hello Friends:

I made no changes to my Android phone settings or to my AquaMail settings.

As of 8:55AM this morning (New York City / Eastern time), my AquaMail cannot download messages.
This came out of nowhere.

I can send emails as normal (via the SMTP protocol), but I cannot receive emails (via IMAP protocol).
The email provider is Zoho Mail.

==============================
The AquaMail error that I get is:
======================================
Error checking mail: Network Error: Unexpected end of network stream.
======================================

My network is fine. IMAP is still enabled on my mail provider (I checked Zoho).
This error happens whether I'm connected via WIFI or via Mobile/LTE

======================================
I have tried:
======================================
-- Removing and Re-Adding the account.
-- Uninstalling and Reinstalling AquaMail.
-- I installed the TypeApp eMail client, and using the same IMAP parameters, everything works fine.

======================================

And idea what happened? How to fix? (._.)

Thank you in advance!

Network errors can and do happen.

As the saying goes - "it takes two to tango" (or three actually: a mail service, a mail app, and the networking in between).

Re: Type Mail - is cloud based, it connects to mail servers from its own servers and collects your mail there.

Aqua Mail is not cloud based and connects to your mail servers directly from your Android device.

If there are networking issues with your device or somewhere between the device and the mail server - but the mail server is accessible from Type Mail's cloud - then you'll see exactly what you described.

Is anyone having issues logging to Zoho Mail via IMAP? I am in NYC. Thank you. :)

Ah, okay that difference makes sense (re: Zoho connection coming from TypeApp cloud versus from AquaMail via Android network stack).

Btw: I have three other IMAP accounts configured in my AquaMail client too: 2 x Gmail and 1 x Yahoo. Those are working fine.

P.S.: Those other AquaMail client accounts (Gmail and Yahoo) are using IMAP; SSL (strict); Port 993. (Same as I use for Zoho).
I just checked.

Btw, the Disqus comment you pasted above was from me.
It's not someone else. A posted that Disqus question this morning. :)

Perhaps some Zoho IMAP behavior change today may be affecting AquaMail client?

Or is anyone else with AquaMail + Zoho IMAP combination seeing this anywhere?

More information / clues ...

I just connected my Android VPN to Houston and then Silicon Valley locations, and that didn't fix the issue. No guarantees, but I figured doing that could force connection other Zoho IMAP servers.

Anyway, no luck there either.

EDIT: I also tried a server in the U.K. (outside the U.S.). No luck.

Next, I just tried the GMail email client.

===========================
It successfully connects to Zoho IMAP:
===========================
-- Server: imap.zoho.com
-- Port: 993
-- Security: SSL/TLS
===========================

Does this use cloud servers, too?
If it doesn't, then my research is pointing more and more to the AquaMail Client.

Any ideas / help?

Thanks!
