New Text Editor background color

Just upgraded to latest version which has a new text editor and I noticed the background is gray instead of white for Dark theme.

How can this be changed so the background is again white without having to change the theme?

I didn't ask about using the old editor! I asked if there was a way to change the background color in the new editor? If you don't know don't bother replying.

The new editor actually first appeared several months ago.

No it does not have a proper dark background.

( and I'm not going to mention switching to the old editor - lest you start screaming at me... ouch... )
