+ The account list (main app screen) got new implementation in preparation for updating the design. Please let us know if there are any new issues.

+ Signature (and greeting) settings now use the new editor (Android 5.0). Makes it possible to paste "raw" HTML snippets.

The screenshots below show:

- Copying an HTML code snippet from a plain text editor

- How pasting into signature has worked until now (visible HTML tags, no formatting)

- How it works now (HTML detected and interpreted as such)

+ Настройки подписи (и приветствия) теперь используют новый редактор (Андроид 5.0+). Стало возможным вставлять HTML код.

- HTML код в простом текстовом файле откуда он копируется

- Как работала вставка такого текста раньше (вместо форматирования видны теги)

This just made my day!! I've been waiting for html signature super for a very long time. Brilliant! Makes an already great app even better.

My Aqua Mail wish list is now down to two

1) Snooze feature (even Google has finally warmed to the idea.)
2)Aqua Mail web version (I know it's just a dream, but AM is so awesome at aggregating my email accounts in mobile, I dream about being able to use it everywhere. Currently I run AM inside of BlueStacks, which is serviceable, but a true web app would be so much better.)

In any case, thank you so much for Dev update 1.16!!!

Well, yeah, I know, but it'd quite a challenge for us since we're not cloud based and so won't get any server assist.

Humm.... I'm actually somewhat surprised by this - isn't there a gazillion web mail systems? Like RoundCube and others?

( although I've tried RoundCube fairly recently - sure it's wonderful in many ways but it just did not get along with me at all )

1) Great point about the server assist. I didn't consider that. I guess I'll have to keep dreaming or sharing to my calendar.

2) There are tons of web based and desktop mail apps. I've tried them all. Since IQTELL went away, none can compare to Aqua Mail. Missive comes very close, but not quite as pleasant to use.

On another note, I don't know what other tweaks you made in 1.16 but this build is blazing fast! I mean WOW fast! If say at least triple the speed as the build I was in this morning. I don't know what to attribute the speed increase to but it is very noticeable.

Interesting, I'll have to check them out. I'm not aware of any plans to develop a web based version - but you made me curious to see what's out there.

Hmmm.... Can't think of anything really (except a couple of small tweaks to improve app startup time).

What exactly became faster for you? Opening messages? Checking mail? Scrolling through message lists?

The web and desktop email apps arena is a crowded market, but none have done it well IMO. The good desktop apps don't offer web or mobile (Mailbird, Thunderbird, Mailspring, eM.)

The existing web clients (Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo) don't do well at all in offering support for multiple account aggregation across different providers.

Most of the great mobile clients (AquaMail, Mailwise, Nine, Blue, EasilyDo, Astro) don't have desktop or web apps. The few who do/did have desktop or web apps are not quite as great on mobile (Missive, Moo.do, Flow-E), charge too much (Newton) or have been discontinued (Alto.)

Probably not much money in it, but sure would be interesting to see a web-based AquaMail. For now, I use Wavebox to bring everything together and occassionally MissiveApp.

In regards to the new speediness: Opening emails, the loading times were remarkably faster. I always load images automatically from recognized addresses and typically this can take a few seconds. Today the emails loaded almost instantly. I have noticed a little slow down in the past hour, but still speedier, so who knows.

Thanks, great info (about desktop / web / mobile email apps).

Personally I often wish there was a desktop email app for Linux that was could sync a limited amount of most recent messages so it won't slow down on large folders.

Beats me! Image loading is handled by WebView / Chrome technology that we use in message view - so maybe Google sped up something there?

Be aware, that third-party web apps will ususally load and store all your messages on server of the app developers. Personally, I don't want that.

There are many mail apps for Android, which do it already like Edison Mail (former Easily Do) and others. I would like to advise against those apps.
