Sent Items on server
« on: December 02, 2012, 03:58:44 am »
I don't seem to be able to find a way to save sent mail to my server's (I am using IMAP) Sent Items folder.  Can AquaMail do this?

Thank you

Hi Gordon,

I'm new myself, but I think I can help you with this one.  Long press on the account name and select "Options and folders", then scroll down to the Folders section.  Select your server's sent folder and say that you want it sync'd with Aqua Mail's [Sent] folder.

Hope this helps.

Regards,
Jacko

Thanks for the reply.  I looked at the folders and options section but I can't see anything about any server folders.  Outgoing messages seemed to be saved in [Saved messages], which seems to be a local folder.  I can see the Sent Items on my server, but the only messages that are there are those sent by other machines on my network.

Ah, I remember now.  My server doesn,'t support UIDPLUS, which is needed to save sent items on the server.

I'm using a Gmail account and in the Folders section that I mentioned, for me all of the server folders are listed, such as Inbox, Drafts, Sent Mail and Spam.  So I'm not sure why you're not at least getting the server folder list.

I remember an issue recently with the K9 email client where the IMAP folder list could not be retrieved if the app had been installed on external storage.  So if you are using a custom firmware, such as CyanogenMod, it might be worth checking that you have not told it to install all apps on the external SD card, if you have one.

Jacko

It looks as if this issue has been fixed as of today.  There is now no dependency on UIDPLUS and I can see my external Sent Items folder. Thanks Kostya!

Yes, yesterday's update (1.2.0.5.1) finally got rid of the UIDPLUS dependency.

Move and upload all you want, folks :)
