startup wizard & access to external storage (sd card) in android 7.1

hello,
I got myself a new phone and after trying to install aquamail in it,
I faced two issues:
1) there should be an option to skip the startup wizard,
maybe an option to import from a backup instead,
cause, since I had a backup I didn't need to go through it,
anyway, I did but i deleted the account afterwards and
restored all my accounts from the backup

2) I cannot backup/restore to external storage,
it says the app doesn't have access,
so? why doesn't it request access like other apps do?
I had to move the backup but is it possible to give it access to the sd card?

the informational hints should also be disabled when restoring, I know the app, I wouldn't want information on how it works since I'm restoring

The Back button. Every Android phone or tablet has one

Some do some don't.

The procedure is complicated for "the average user" and there are additional complications around implementing this.

Therefore, access to "real" microSd is not a priority. We have enough of other - email specific - things to work on.
