Issues with carriage returns in plain text emails

I'm really enjoying AM!  It's the best Android mail client by far!  However I am having issues displaying plain text emails in Aquamail.  Basically it doesn't seem to recognize carriage returns.  3 other different mail clients display these emails correctly.

How can I resolve this issue?

Well, I'm pretty surprised by this... It certainly does recognize carriage returns, I see messages with line breaks every day...

Are you seeing this with all messages, or just some?

Would it be possible to get a sample message or two, exactly as is, from web mail or a desktop mail app ("show source" or similar), sent as an attachment to kmansoft / at sign / gmail  / dot com?

I saw this but thought it was the source mail system.
Already deleted the message so I can't check.
Didn't check on the desktop client either.

Oh, and I just want to mention...

My app supports so called "format=flowed" for plain text messages... lines with a space at the end, just before the newline character, represent soft line breaks and will be merged.
