Hi,

Previously I was not using android global automatic sync, but enabled it now to sync contacts with google. This turned on also AguaMail automatic sync, imap and exchange, but as I like to manually check emails, I turned (under phone settings, accounts and sync, AquaMail imap and exchange) the AquaMail automatic sync (calendar, contacts, email sync) off.

But when previously without global automatic sync, manually checking emails did also update calendar, now with global automatic sync, checking email manually, calendar is not synced. When I enable in AquaMail app calendar sync, also under global sync > AquaMail > exchange > calendar sync will be automatically enabled vice versa.

So how to allow calendar sync manually (within manually syncing email), like email sync is made when phone global sync is enabled?

Um we trigger calendar sync after the app checks mail - but *only* if calendar sync is enabled in phone's sync settings - so it can be turned off.

I understand this is not what you want - but I think it makes sense. There is a "system" setting which when we to "do not sync" we treat as "Aye Captain, understood, *no* sync, standing back".

Hmm, please explain more. When global sync is enabled and in the AquMail app settings the calendar sync is enabled (which triggers the Sync Calendar option - see the picture), does the calendar sync then according to the global system sync settings without checking emails manually, or when I check emails manually, only then the calendar will also synced?

If the calendar is automatically synced without manually checking email, then this is not wanted behavior and I suggest to add option, which involves the calendar sync for the case when email is checked manually.

What I'm saying is - if a user does not want his/her calendar synced, he/she turned that setting off.

And then we respect the user's wishes and do not trigger calendar sync ourselves.

You want the opposite - sync to be off, and Aqua still triggering calendar sync. We don't have a way to do this. If you turn sync off, then it's off.

( and I suppose Android treats "global sync off" to mean "all individual sync types / kinds / varieties under each account are off" )
