Smart Folder, or any folder, to show only Unread received Today

Can Aqua Mail create a filter that shows only Unread Emails that were received Today? I've tried the setting for One Day in the Smart Folder, but it still shows emails from weeks ago.

Do you mean that you opened Aqua Mail's general Settings -> Smart Folder -> Smart Folder time period -> One day? In addition once you are there check how you've set the "Default sort order" function - Unread first, Starred first, data/time, etc.

Yes, I have the Smart Folder set the way you've described. I've changed the sort from Date to Unread, but my goal is to filter for Today only, regardless of the sort order. I'll send screen shots to support.

The smart folder, by design, always shows unread messages no matter how old (as long as they're "synced into the app", i.e. "recent enough").

Read messages also, but filtered by a cutoff time period. This can be set to 1 day (among other options).

This is not working at all, tried all what's written but still can see read messages older than a day!!
This renders smart folders useless and dumb folders

What exactly is not working and what is your intent?

The smart folder shows messages from the selected time period ---

--- and also "any" unread messages ("any" - synced into the app, not arbitrarily old).
