Problem seeing full headers
« on: January 18, 2018, 03:48:29 am »
Several years ago, I posted a message on this forum asking how to see full headers.  I received a prompt and helpful response, namely, to highlight the message and then choose the three dots and select Full Headers.  That worked well, but I just tried it now, and the three dots in the upper right did not yield anything about headers.  There were six items: Move to, Change labels, Add star, Mark important, Mute, and Report spam.  I had a vague memory of their being dots at the bottom right, but now all there is is a big red circle with a pen in it, for writing and responding.  So I have to ask again: how do I see full headers on the messages I've received.  I'd like to do so without first opening the message, because I strongly suspect that the message is either spam or malware.  The instructions I received several years ago did not require me to open the message first, and I'd like to have similar instructions now, since the old ones no longer work.

Thanks in advance.

Both of these methods "work" except the destination of the copied headers is unknown, nor configurable.

Long press on the message > press the 3 vertical dots at the upper right > show headers > copy (but I have no idea where they are copied to)

OR

Open message (which I know you don't want to do) > press the 3 vertical dots at the lower right > view > show headers > copy (again, no idea where they wind up)

Thanks very much, phred, for your response.  With great embarrassment, I have to admit that the problem turns out not to be with Aqua Mail but with my feeble brain.  I have the Aqua Mail app and my Gmail right next to each other on my tablet, and I now realize that the message for which I was trying to see full headers was in Gmail, not Aqua Mail.  :-[  If I could, I'd erase this entire thread.  Since I doubt I can do that, I'll just apologize and crawl back under my rock.  :(

Well, that would certainly explain it.

And if it makes you feel any better, I feel like a fool also as know when I follow those steps, the headers appear on the screen without the prompt to copy, as I was seeing yesterday. Make some more room under that rock please.

"where does the Copy copy"?

Why, to the standard Android Cliboard (copy / paste buffer)!

And if this makes you feel better -- I spent several hours trying to get support from Microsoft because "something" suddenly disappeared "somewhere" which turned out to be a UI problem and I just had to select the right "thing" from a "menu". Embarrassing (but that UI could really be more intuitive).
