Minor issues? SmartBox
« on: January 10, 2018, 11:23:47 am »
Hi, I encountered this:

a) If Smartbox enabled, I don't see the folder name anymore in notifications. ("Use SmartBox for notifications" is disabled)

If SmartBox disabled, I see the folder name in notifications. I would expect same behavior, if Smartbos is enabled.

b) If SmartBox is disabled, but in settings "Look and feel" the start view is still "SmartBox", the app will show me sort the SmartBox at start.

I would expect, that disabling SmartBox resets the start view when SmartBox was selected there.

On item a) - if a notification is "about" messages from multiple folders, then the folder name won't show.

Maybe that's your case and there is no connection to the "enable smart folder" option (the code that posts notifications only looks at "use smart folder for notifications")?

Item b) - allez klar

Thanks.

So if a message is located in a specific folder named "XYZ" AND also shown in SmartBox, this will be a case of "multiple folders"?

What about ignoring the SmartBox folder - and just show "XYZ" in this case?

RE: So if a message is located in a specific folder named "XYZ" AND also shown in SmartBox, this will be a case of "multiple folders"?

Notifications code doesn't check if smart folder is enabled.

I'm talking about this:

Let's say you've set additional folders "to sync" in Aqua Mail, in addition to the default Inbox - let's say "messages from boss", "messages from mom", etc.

1 - If a notification is only "about" messages from one folder (doesn't matter which) - it will show that folder's name in its subtitle (on Android 5.0 this is along the bottom of a pulled down notification).

2 - If it's "about" messages from more than one folder - will not (show a folder name).

???

Yes. This is the case I described. And it works as long SmartBox is disabled.

Unfortunately it does not show up folder's name, if SmartBox is enabled. This is the issue I mentioned.

I'm not seeing any difference with smart folder on or off.

Found a different one - if a notification is "about" only messages from Inbox then:

- Just one message -> subtitle shows "Account: Inbox".

- More than one message, still all in Inbox -> subtitle shows as "Account".

I'm guessing you're running into this one and the smart folder being on or off is a false pattern.
