We are glad to announce that version 1.12.0 has been released to Google Play for all users.

+ Easier per-account settings: Signature, Folders, Options are now available on the app’s Settings screen
+ Exchange: Out of the office
+ Exchange: Sync any secondary Contacts folders
+ Text to speech notifications: Suppress when there is a phone call
+ Search: Auto complete from Contacts

New version installed on my Galaxy 5 last night.  Now I cannot send or receive emails.  "invalid (SSL) security certificate"  I have changed nothing. 

How do I go back to previous version?  Need to get this fixed fast.

Have the same issue on Galaxy 7, Android 7.0

Hi,

Please e-mail us at support@aqua-mail.com and let us know the configured incoming and outgoing server names to have your issues resolved.

Please long press on the account -> account setup -> Manual

You'll see detailed incoming server settings, and if you tap Next, detailed outgoing server settings.

In 1.12, we improved the security of the app's networking by adding a check for "server names specified in the server's certificate".

Yes some servers may fail the new check, esp. with custom domains.

One workaround is to long press on the account -> account setup -> Manual and change "security" from "SSL (strict)" to "SSL (any)" then tap Next again and make same change for the outgoing server.

But:

To get things back working and get the new improved security at the same time - your mail server names need to match whatever's specified in the certificate presented by the server, and then you can use "SSL (strict)" again (with the new check).

If you can't work out the right server names - please follow Nadia's advice above, and email us you current server names, we'll try to find "the right ones" for you.

An example:

user@brownies.com <- custom domain

Actual mail service is MailService Inc., http://www.mailservice.com

Your current servers:

imap.brownies.com and smtp.brownies.com

The SSL certificates on these servers indicate the following "acceptable" server names:

*.mailservice.com

This does not match imap. / smtp. brownies.com -> error if using "SSL (strict)"

But let's say your mail provider's help page (for email settings) says you can use:

mail.mailservice.com (or imap.mailservice.com and smtp.mailservice.com)

instead of your current

imap. <your domain> .com and smtp. <your domain> .com

Bingo. These server names ( imap. / smtp. mailservice.com ) will pass the check against the "*.mailservice.com" pattern in the certificate -> no error even if using "SSL (strict)".

Hello,

Do you have an idea regarding this issue?: I can't attach a file from One Drive to an email.

I didn't notice when this issue appeared but now I can't attach a file from One Drive.

Some days before I could see One Drive on the list.

That window is not Aqua Mail - it's something called "Unified Document Picker" which is part of Android.

One Drive just had a major update recently.

I've got the new version on one of my phones - it does show where expected, in that window (which you screenshot-ted).

Not an Aqua Mail issue - maybe you need to run One Drive app and re-login or something? But I really don't know.

I was sure it was not an AM issue, but I was looking something to fix it. If I share from One Drive to AM it works, but sometimes I need to attach some files from an specific email.
