Unread Counter Badge Not working on LG V30 Android 7.1.2
« on: October 12, 2017, 11:45:15 pm »
I just purchased and set up a new LG V30.  I downloaded aqua mail and did a restore of my accounts.  I no longer am receiving Unread count on the aqua mail icon.  When I go to settings and then Message Notifications, the last entry at the bottom is "Text to Speech", not "launch icon counter".  Anyone else having this problem.  Please help.

The "unread badge counts" is a non-standard feature which device manufacturers create for their own apps, not third party apps.

Aqua is able to use - undocumented, unsupported - code to provide badges on some devices, but since there is no documentation, the manufacturer can change what they do or block the feature entirely at whim and no notice.

( the only exception is Sony which documented their stuff maybe a year ago )

Let's try though. Please go into the phone's Settings -> Apps -> find "Home Screen" or "Launcher" if there -> click into it -> let me know the "package name" listed for it.

Up until now the package name of LG's launcher was com.lge.launcher2

On your new LG phone it must be something else but I hope similar.

Thanks for the quick response.  I looked for both Home Screen and Launcher.  I only found Home.  When I click into it, it does not show any package.  However here is a screenshot of all the packages that are similar to the "com.lge.launcher2".  Is there anywhere else I should look?

Thank you very much for looking into this for me.

Thank you, this is what I need to see.

Our code already checks for com.lge.launcher2 and would find it

I can only guess that LG decided to do something differently on this particular device.

As I wrote above, this is an undocumented feature and only intended to be used by LG's (Samsung's, HTC's, Xiaomi's...) own software. This means we cannot get any info from LG on what's wrong and how to fix it.

Please consider using the app's widgets instead (they work on any phone) or maybe switch to a third party launcher (we support Nova Prime, Apex Pro, Smart Launcher where this feature is officially supported and documented).

But I didn't! (help) :)

Please try this version:

I added a check for "com.lge.launcher3" (not "2") - who knows it might help?

Hello there. Does it possible to have same badges on oneplus latest launcher?
And what about 3d touch list, like having options Create new mail account 1, account 2, Synch, etc?
Спасибо.

Ps, net.oneplus.launcher

Counters - not that I'm aware of. Unless OnePlus publishes an official way to do it.

Shortcuts - maybe at some point, but won't happen soon.

Glad, that never will be evaluated to someday ;)
