Aquamail showing spam in my sent items.

I don't check my sent items folder often but had to do so today and as you can see by the attached screenshot there are a bunch of spam email showing in the sent items.

Now this is a Gmail account so I checked the Gmail app as well as online and these are not showing in my sent items in those email clients

Now I checked the spam folders for the PC and app clients for Gmail and the spam is not matching in terms of content or email

Also if you click on the actual email details even if in the sent items folder it shows as an email sent to me

Any ideas on what could be doing this?

It sounds that somehow your "Sent" folder in Aquamail got mapped (is pointing to) a different folder on the server.

Go to "manage folders" and check which folder "Sent" is synced with. Please, read the FAQ item "How do I access server side folders?" http://www.aqua-mail.com/?page_id=227 for the instructions on how to do that.

Also, using Gmail's web interface, do a search for the message you described, to determine which label it has (i.e. in which folder it would appear)

If my guess is correct, then you can configure the correct server-side "Sent"  folder (it might be called "Sent Mail" or whatever, depending on your Gmail profile language...

Thanks. That was it. Sent items folder was set to sync with spam folder.

Not even sure why that is an option unless its just a default available setting for all folders

Nope it's definitely not the default for how Aqua sets up Gmail accounts... not sure what happened there, sorry.
