IMAP multiple folders in inbox
« on: May 25, 2017, 10:57:12 pm »
Hi
I have  created an IMAP account in Thunderbird on a PC, and included filters to sort incoming emails into separate folders (e.g. all emails from members of my family are moved to folder 'Family' and all work emails are moved to 'Work').  Any messages that don't fall into a category are left in the Inbox.

By default Aquamail only shows the Inbox, but if I select Other Folders I can see 'Family', 'Work' etc, and if I select one of them it is included under the account, and the contents are correct.  This is exactly what I want.  However, I can only open three folders.  If I select a fourth then one of the others disappears.  Is it possible to increase the number of folders that can be handled?

Regards
Alan Rouse

yes, this is possible.
Please look into the app's FAQ-page:

Go to the item "How do I access server side folders?", nearly on the top of the list

Suggestion: number FAQ items. Begin with 100 (3 digits to all FAQ items). This will help to point at FAQ entries.
That's a really good idea 💡

In addition to numbers, it would be great to have a <name> HTML tags for each item, so, that a direct link can be used, (similarly to how an individual message in a thread can be linked) but the CMS template used fro the FAQ probably doesn't allow that (does it?).

The CMS is just WordPress and the "spoiler blocks" is really simple code I copied from somewhere on the Internet...

It would also be a good idea to have search on that page too.

I'll make a note in our "famous" task tracker system.
