Notifications with Lightflow
« on: May 10, 2017, 03:12:53 am »
I'm not sure if this is a bug or just some incompatibility issue. I'm using Aquamail and have Lightflow controlling the notifications. I get notified when new emails are received fine. If I use the "mark as read" function rather than directly opening the received email, the notification gets cleared with no problem. When I later go into Aquamail and hit the new email, even though it has been marked as "read", it triggers Lightflow to produce a new momentary notification, which stops right away. The same thing happens when I send an email-Aquamail triggers Lightflow to momentarily produce a notification, even if I have "sent notifications" turned off in Aquamail. I have also tried the notification setting to just notify on new emails. It's not a big deal, but it's annoying to have the notification sound from Lightflow play everytime I read or send an email. Wondering if you might have any suggestions?

On Aqua Mail's notifications?

( I'm just not sure if LightFlow has its own "buttons" for that )

And then:

Re: When I later go into Aquamail and hit the new email

Those messages that you just recently received and already marked as read (above)?

So they're already "marked read"? And there are no notifications from Aqua Mail (I don't expect that there should be)?

Weird. I just verified that Aqua's code doesn't trigger LightFlow when a message is already marked as read (even if it needs to be loaded)...

Re:  The same thing happens when I send an email-Aquamail triggers Lightflow to momentarily produce a notification, even if I have "sent notifications" turned off in Aquamail.

This one is pretty strange too, I just checked the code and actually sent a message with a breakpoint on LightFlow "bridge" code, it did not trigger.

Wonder if you have LightFlow monitor Aqua's "ongoing" status bar notifications (as opposed to "new mail" notifications) -- those can (mostly on 4.* devices) be posted during syncing or sending???

Solved! Add AquaMail to Lightflow notifications from "From pre-defined application list" rather than from ""For an installed application".
Thanks to Andrew from Reactle for the suggestion!

Ah. Aqua Mail has Light Flow integration (and vice versa).

Before you must have had Light Flow monitor Aqua's notifications as it does for other apps when there is no integration.
