Yahoo authentication error on certain ISP using mobile data connection

This is the solution:

Edit the apn-settings in the mobile networks.

Under type of authentification choose CHAP or PAP. CHAP is more secure. After the settings-change it should work.

This can be a solution. I still testing.
Is finally working  on Orange now using PAP option.

Wow, what does auth at the *transport* (low level networking) level have to do with Yahoo *email* auth?

As I said before, still testing, some times is working sometime's not. Very annoying. Playing around with that setting works, but not always. 😥

We just posted a new build - "work in progress" of the next version 1.10 -- which has support for Yahoo's preferred login method, OAUTH2.

You'll also be able to "turn off access to less secure apps" that Yahoo web mail is so "insistent" about.
