Large Attachments
« on: March 08, 2017, 02:08:01 am »
Hello

I am using AquaMail with a Gmail account and an exchange.

When I attach a fairly large 10mb pdf file on my exchange account the message goes to drafts and when I refresh it freezes at 75% before giving me a network error - will try again during sync message.

All messages I send following that will then go in to the draft box. It seems that the others won't send because it is trying to send the first email before any other and then stops and gives me the above error message.

If I delete the first draft with the 10mb pdf, all the others will then send.

This only seems to happen with PDF files as the other messages that sent following deletion of the email with the PDF fine all had jpg attachments.

Our server has a 20mb limit so as that is not being exceded, I'm unsure of the problem but it does keep happening and is really causing me problems when sending certificates to clients.

1 - Aqua Mail doesn't treat PDF's in any special way

2 - There is no hard limit on the size of attachments

3 - I have no trouble sending even larger files through my Office 365 account, on mobile data and WiFi both

Therefore, it must be something on your Exchange server.

Your company's IT people should be able to investigate from their side, why exactly the server is not keeping up with the upload.

Maybe a server side anti-virus?

Thanks for the reply, ill get on to them on Monday and see if they can investigate. I can use the standard email app that comes with Samsung phones and Gmail app just fine but I would prefer to only use Aqua as I really like it.

Since we're talking about Exchange -- there are different ways to connect to it.

Gmail and "stock" Email apps use something called ActiveSync.

Aqua Mail uses something called EWS (Exchange Web Services), there are other apps that use it too.

Please mention EWS specifically when discussing this issue with the IT people.
