Deleted folder automatically emptied weekly

Hello,

My wife and I have been using Aqua Mail for some time now and recently she's had to get a new phone. Since then, her deleted folder is automatically being deleted once a week (Sundays). Could someone tell me if there is a setting to change this over to manual as sometimes she wants to refer back to some of them and they're gone. It never used to happen on her old phone (S4) and still don't on mine but it does on her new one (A5 2017 MODEL). I've compared all settings and they're the same as mine, so I'm confused?

Aqua Mail does not have any settings and does not contain any code that would do that.

I'd suggest checking with your mail provider's support. Could be another mail app too, if you use one.
