Compose Button on all the time & Conversation View open all emails

Hi guys,

New to Aqua Mail, wanted something with more options than Gmail app. I have two gripes which I'm hoping someone has the answer to despite my best effort to change settings to fix.

1. The Compose button when you scroll down to read emails disappears, the only way to get the button to show is to scroll up. Is there any way to keep this button from disappearing and on all the time?

2. The conversation/threaded view is great, however unlike Gmail if i click on the threaded email in the mail list it expands it and i can't view all the emails in a conversation like Gmail app. I know there is an option to open the first email and long press to show the rest but this is not what I'm looking for. I would like to be able to click on a conversation email and have all the emails show up when im reading through the email.

Any help is appreciated.

Re: The Compose button:

I don't think there is an option to prevent the "action button" ("Compose") from disappearing, but I might be wrong. The intent here is that once you start scrolling, you don't need to compose.
Once you stopped scrolling, the button sometimes re-appears by itself, but sometimes you indeed need to scroll it up (or, I believe sometimes even slight movement down is sufficient).
I don't know what determines that. Kostya will probably address that in detail.

RE: The conversation view.
Kostya has written it in many responses (@Kostya: I was surprised it is still not in the FAQ): the conversation view is intentionally different from Gmail's. Aquamail is not a Gmail client with more options. It is a different app, with its own approach to many aspects of reading and sending e-mail. Many Aquamail users do not like Gmail's style of conversation.
I would recommend you trying Aquamail style for some time before you make any type of decision.

Thanks for the information. I can get over some of the differences but it is quite irritating the button does not appear or stay like gmail app.

It does appear if you scroll back a bit (one message list item).

FWIW, there are users who find Gmail's (and Google+'s) fixed buttons quite irritating (since they obscure the content below)...

Is there anyway you can set it so once scrolling is done the button appears automatically? or even an option to leave it on all the time instead of floating?

I realize for some it gets in the way but having to scroll back up again to make the button appear addresses one annoyance but adds another.

Since the suggestions/Features request page is locked.

I have one more suggestion which I saw from my search has been asked multiple times which is to allow notifications for specific contacts/subject field etc.

It is a great client but it is different from Gmail App and does take adjusting

Sorry there isn't. I'll file this suggestion in our task tracking system (but this does not at all mean that it'll get worked on in the immediate future).

Yes, since maybe two years ago or more, did it when my "todo" grew to 10 pages and it was meaningless to track everything.

Contacts - this is already in our task tracking system as an idea for future versions.

Yes it is, sorry I just didn't see the point of trying to build a better Gmail app than the Gmail app.

I checked out the Development Builds forum hoping to see this somewhere in there but I must be missing something b/c I don't see a tracking of future upgrades there. Is there a link which shows what is coming in the horizon?

Paid for Pro, will stick to this over Gmail app in hopes of features like this being added.

"Task tracking system" is the developers' tool (or speaking broader, - a business internal organization tool).
In contrast to that, "Developments Builds" forum has information about those features that just have been (or are being) implemented/debugged/...

Understand, what I would like to know is if there is a way for users to find out what is going to be worked on in the upcoming beta releases.

Except for the open-source software, it is very seldom that the plans for the future steps/features are revealed. Sometimes, that happens for the one (or a few) that is (are) already in work and close to completion. But a roadmap for "upcoming beta releases"? -- I wouldn't expect that.

In any case, only Kostya and MobiSystem rep(s) are in position to talk about that information.
