I like the look of the new version. I don't really like the icon but I use icon packs anyway so that is not an issue for me. I like how the selection spots are next to the email now.

Some people like the new design but some people don’t like it and prefer the old and clear blue design.
Is it possible to add new theme like "Aqua old Blue"s and try to keep the old design as much as possible?

There are no plans for this.

The new design is definitely "more modern" and this was one of the goals (and I personally don't like every single part of what's considered "modern" design either).

Please note that we've kept message list customization settings, so it is possible to e.g. change text color / read/unread background colors, app's main accent color, etc.

We could possibly fix a few more things (like we did between the first "design update" build and the 1.8 final), but it'd need to be focused and specific.

Re: Kostya, what about those specific and focused suggestions I have posted earlier, and are still not answered?

There were a few changes based on your suggestions --

- color chips made more "juicy"
- the context bar for message actions was made dark with white icons
- darker text color for "account / folder name hint" in smart folder
- darker text color for one of the other lines (I forget if it was subject / sender)

Now did the designers agree with every single item from your list? No they didn't, I think it's quite normal too.

But I believe that they (we) did address the bigger concerns, no?

Re: No. The major issue was that the date is now on the second title bar, not the first one (my suggestion #11). Any possibility to change that?

Sorry I didn't catch that this was *the* major issue. Yes, true, this hasn't been changed yet, maybe it will be but I'm not sure.

Yes, I second this suggestion as "a" main issue
... especially since the position of date / time in the 3rd line isn't particularly useful - far away from the 'sticky'  date header -.

There was an intensive discussion in this thread recently:

https://www.aqua-mail.com/forum/index.php?topic=5317.msg31694#msg31694
... and a bunch of posts afterwards (Paris Geek, nica, StR and me)

In this post I mentioned my - personally - priorities out of @Paris Geek's suggestions:

https://www.aqua-mail.com/forum/index.php?topic=5317.msg31655#msg31655

Follow-up of requests/suggestions (31-01-2017)
I agree with @Paris Geek's priorities.

However, the most important things - at least for me -:
  • #11 - Date should be moved to the first line <> swaped with Message size
  • #01 - Darker background for Floating context bar
  • #17 - Reduce the white space in attachment area in message view
  • #02 - Keep/reset the option for brighter colors for chips in message list
  • #05 - Use same color for top bar and FAB by default
  • #18 - Use aquamarine instead of blue color for internet/phone links
Again, many thanks to @Paris Geek for his detailed suggestions!

Hi Team of AuqaMail,
I like the dark design and the new look also very much, but
is it possible to change the color for %Email@adresses.com% to the old blue again with an option or so?
Like it was with the old look in the dark design or is with the new look and light design.

Thank you very much
Bodo

Can you please clarify -- this is in message view (not message list view)? In the header? The email addresses specifically (not "human names")?

I this it was't intentional, an oversight. I'll take a look.

Re: * tmp_27836-pg00-f2308701743.png (281.55 kB, 760x856 - viewed 8 times.)

A bunch of these are already done, and made it into the release (even the "contact chip colors" - we ended up with something between the old colors with and without "muted" option).

I'm going to ask the designer about the "date" placement when "stars" are off.

Don't think there is any intent to change the FAB color, but just selecting a custom "accent color" would make the FAB a darker shade of that one.

I am probably misinterpreting this response but wanted to add my own thoughts just in case. Believe the request is to swap message date with message size (date on top, size on bottom) in the message list regardless of whether stars are enabled or disabled. Sorry if this clarification was unnecessary or my input is off-topic.

Yes, the suggestion is to place the date/time on top (on the first Title line, above the star) and the message size - when this option is enabled - in the 2. line (or even below the star if stars are enabled).

Just coming here to say that I like the new design. As every change you first see it as strange and maybe troublesome, but after a couple of days I can say that for me is better than before. The only drawback I found is the date information as I miss the time in older mails. But that's not a main concern now that I use a desktop client most of the time. When I switch fully to an Android phone as a desktop that might be an issue. :P

No, this is not exactly the original request. Message size is optional, let's not interfere with it -  request #11 is to put the date on the first Title line, and exactly as Kostya pointed out if this not always possible, at least make it possible when stars are not displayed.

In my view date should be anchored to the first/top line regardless of other optional items like stars and message size; it should never be demoted.

Just trying out the new version for the first time.

Is there a way to remove the check boxes in the smart folder and message list view?  I'm not sure why I need them taking up space if I can still multi select by clicking on the messages.
