Please post your feedback on the 1.8 design refresh here. I will pass it on to the Design Team.
I don't like the new colors, they are faded and uncertain. The old blue was perfect. Also the action bar in message view is in now without any color and not so visible (however position is better) like it was berfore.
And new logo is also typical and boring, plus reminds some others alternatives, typical envelope mode - just open Google Play and search for "imap client" and You get what I mean.
Honestly I don't get why new owner hates customers, why fix something what isn't broken? But I guess the visual change is the new owner "must have similar design like our other apps" request and all we can do is drop it or get used to:(.
Edit: Please add option to use old light material template or at least add old blue color into look & feel, title bar color menu, right now there are different, but not the original blue (I don't know it's hex value either) colors.
