Deleted mail not showing up in deleted folder.

I received an extremely important email today, and hit the menu button in order to choose "move to folder" to file it away. Instead, I accidentally hit the "Delete Now" button just below "move to folder." My bad. However, the worst part is that it does not show up in my [ Deleted ] folder. Where do I find this email in order to recover it? Thanks!

Sorry to say, but from what you described, you've deleted that message.
If it is "delete now", the message is actually deleted right at that moment, not moved to [Deleted].
You have three options for "delete":
1. Delete now
2. Move to [Deleted]
3. Hide on the phone, keep on the server.
While you can do either of them through the 3-dot menu, in the settings, you configure one of them to be the default, i.e the one that is assigned to the Delete icon (and you can also assign one to one of the swiping options).

"Delete now" -> you mean "Delete (from the server) immediately", not "Move to Deleted folder first", correct?

Yes "delete now" is "delete from the app and mail server immediately" -- entirely separate from the default "move to deleted".

PS - since 1.6.2, there is an Undo button which remains on the screen for a couple of seconds, works for "delete now" and "move to deleted" both (and more).

The default setting is "Move to Deleted folder first".

And there is undo for both "move to deleted" and "delete immediately".

... which is not to say that it's impossible to accidentally delete a message in AquaMail.

But removing any "path" which "may" cause this will complicate things when the deletion is legitimate and intended.
