They should be there by default already -- since in Android, "lock screen notifications" are just apps' "status bar notifications", mirrored (copied) to the lock screen by Android itself.

However -- some device manufacturers have settings (in the phone's Settings app) for lock screen notifications specifically.

For example, this is for my Huawei Honor 5C:

Settings -> Apps -> AquaMail -> tap for details -> Notifications -> [] Lock screen (off by default for all apps except those "well known" to Huawei, I guess).

Hi Kostya,
Thanks for your reply.
I've checked my status bar and I see the notifications there are the same as on the lock screen so they are indeed mirrored.
in my settings->app->mymail (my current email app but i want to switch to aqua mail) ->notifications:there is no items  to disable lock screen.
regards

Whoa, wait.

Re: I've checked my status bar and I see the notifications there are the same as on the lock screen so they are indeed mirrored

OK, so you do get lock screen notifications.

But you earlier wrote: "can I have popup notifications in the lock screen of android marshmallow"

So I thought you were not getting them, and the question was how to enable them? But they're already showing?

MyMail? You have a question about MyMail app?

I saw notifications on my lock screen but I did't know the came from the status bar so I was not sure I would get notifications of aqua-mail.
(forget my sentence about mymail)

As long as you see notifications from AquaMail in the status bar -- those, since Android 5.0, get automatically "mirrored" / copied to the lock screen, without the app's involvement.

If you're not seeing this, there may be an "enhanced" setting in your phone, added by your phone's manufacturer ("stock" Android doesn't have it, as far as I know).

I do get notifications on both my lock screen and status bar, but they are removed from my lock screen just a second after, which doesn't happen with other mail app, i.e. if I lock the phone and check my lock screen later, the notification just isn't there, as it should, can I make the notification remain on my lock screen? I don't have similar problem with any other app's notifications

In terms of how Android works and how AquaMail works with it --

-- lock screen notifications are "copies of" status bar notifications.

This means they should not disappear, and there is no way that I know of for an app to remove just the lock screen instance and keep the status bar notification.

Now, my Sony phone has a per-app setting for whether "lock screen notifications should remain on the screen", don't know if your phone is a Sony, but even if it's not, there could be a setting like this in the phone's software.

nope, my phone isn't sony, but I did a clean cache/data and it worked for a while,
I'll see how it goes

edit: something has to do with some setting maybe,
I managed to fix it on my moto e, but still not working properly on my LG G2,
notification on lock screen shows up but disappears in a second or so,
I can see it on the status bar, but never again on lock screen!

hmmmm strange, the problems relies in some mails,
in those mails the lock screen notification disappears instantly!!!

in other ones (e.g. the ones I send to myself to test the behavior),
it works fine

all the tests work just fine,
when sending mail from my accounts,
desktop email client (outlook)
and from an account not existing in aquamail,
I have problem with some senders/some emails,
they send me emails, in which the notifications disappear
after a second!!

I'm using "Lollipop Lockscreen Android L" in both devices:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.luckycoin.lockscreen
which works fine for any other app besides aquamail,
but since I cannot delete my emails from lock screen,
I totally excluded aquamail from "Lollipop Lockscreen Android L",
installed "Heads-up Notifications":
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=codes.simen.l50notifications
and let this app notify me with only aquamail's notifications,

Devices are LG G2 (D802) & Moto E (1st gen, XT1021), launcher is nova latest stable (prime, 4.3.1)
android version is 4.4.4 in moto e and 4.4.2 in lg g2

thank you too,
I hope lock screen notification events (and removal of them) are logged too

I enabled logging (+raw) and the next time this happens, I'll send it to kmansoft,

thanks again

Oh, man! You've created layers of notification apps, where they might be competing with each other, potentially creating conflicts and what's not.

OK, let's go step by step.

I'm using "Lollipop Lockscreen Android L" in both devices:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.luckycoin.lockscreen
which works fine for any other app besides aquamail,
but since I cannot delete my emails from lock screen,
I totally excluded aquamail from "Lollipop Lockscreen Android L",
So, when you are saying that your "Lollipop Lockscreen Android L" (LLAL) doesn't work for Aquamail, is that before or after your excluded Aquamail from it?

In any case, at this point:
(1) You cannot compare Aquamail to any other app that gets its notifications through the LLAL, because you excluded Aquamail from LLAL.
(2) Whatever doesn't work with Aquamail notifications is likely related to your "Heads-up Notifications".

installed "Heads-up Notifications":
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=codes.simen.l50notifications
and let this app notify me with only aquamail's notifications,

Have you read "Common Issues" on that page?
Have you checked what you might have interfering with it?

COMMON ISSUES:
...
If your device is running Android 4.2 or earlier, and you have other accessibility services running (such as Pushbullet), they might block Heads-up from receiving your notifications. Please try to disable them if Heads-up doesn't work.
...
Other: Facebook Messenger, AcDisplay and PushBullet notification mirroring might conflict with Heads-up.

Since you said you've manage get it working on one phone, and not the other one:
1. What did you do for that?
2. What is the difference in the configurations between the two?

Finally, about the e-mails:
all the tests work just fine,
when sending mail from my accounts,
desktop email client (outlook)
and from an account not existing in aquamail,
I have problem with some senders/some emails,
they send me emails, in which the notifications disappear

I suspect that the difference that you see might be in timing and not in where the messages are sent from. Aquamail's notifications are not different for different addresses. When an e-mail arrives from some other sender, - it is likely after some time since you've been using the phone. While e-mails from you arrive soon after you just switched off the screen. Right?

Do you have some sort of battery optimizers running that might be killing your "Heads-up Notifications" the moment after it posts the notification?

In any case, what you are observing should not be related to Aquamail: the notifications are posted and stay as expected in the notifications bar. It is your notification app(s) and its interaction with the lockscreen.
I don't think Aquamail's log will show anything: Aquamail handed off the notifications to the system. What other apps might do (or not do) with those, - that's about those apps.

absolutely not, everything is working fine, and everything is tested with another email app
I was using as my "basic" one, before switching to aquamail for the basic

OK, let's go step by step.
agreed

So, when you are saying that your "Lollipop Lockscreen Android L" (LLAL) doesn't work for Aquamail, is that before or after your excluded Aquamail from it?
after of course (and obviously..)

In any case, at this point:
(1) You cannot compare Aquamail to any other app that gets its notifications through the LLAL, because you excluded Aquamail from LLAL.
(2) Whatever doesn't work with Aquamail notifications is likely related to your "Heads-up Notifications".
aquamail's behavior is the same when using it with LLAL, I tried that too,
and the results are the same, already mentioned

neither device is running android 4.2 or earlier, and I didn't have any issue with pushbullet (which of course I'm using too :D) so far

Since you said you've manage get it working on one phone, and not the other one:
1. What did you do for that?
2. What is the difference in the configurations between the two?
I cleaned up cache and data in both the phones, to no avail though,
I got my test emails fine, but later on I got a problematic one,
configurations are identical, when I set up the one,
I check the other to set up, and I have also tinkered with the options

I suspect that the difference that you see might be in timing and not in where the messages are sent from. Aquamail's notifications are not different for different addresses. When an e-mail arrives from some other sender, - it is likely after some time since you've been using the phone. While e-mails from you arrive soon after you just switched off the screen. Right?
in both events I had my phone very close to me and checked at once, the lock screen notification should be there

Do you have some sort of battery optimizers running that might be killing your "Heads-up Notifications" the moment after it posts the notification?
no, I don't, I don't think they do work

I disagree since, as I said from start, I didn't have any issues like this with any other app, i.e. the lock screen notification was always there, till I removed it, either from the lock screen by swiping it to the left or to the right, or removing it from the status bar, I think it's related to aquamail because I used another email app and I didn't have such problems, maybe I'll switch back to that one again if I don't find a solution
