This has nothing to do with authentication (two step or not), it's a simple network / connect error, and those errors are "genuine", they are caused by things outside the app.
I have absolutely no trouble connecting to that specific IP from my home computer (using openssl, just as a test).
As for "generated" vs. "real" password -- since Aqua supports OAUTH2 for Gmail, it logs you in on Google's web site, which expects the real password.
