"rule based" notification / coloring
« on: March 18, 2016, 04:23:16 pm »
Hello,

I'm evaluating AquaMail as a potential new Android app within my workflow. (Using ProfiMail Go at the moment).
It looks very nice and IMAP IDLE operation seems very stable, even with all the pitfalls and Android/Samsung bugs
when used in IPv6/IPv4 environments.

A question (maybe there is some trick) - but I fear it's a feature request I am forced to post here :-):
(S/MIME support - the other request - is already articulated...)

I know that application of rules to messages, especially concerning sorting into folders or changing message status/deletion, is thought to be better done on the server. I can follow that. That's what SIEVE is for, with the imap4flags extension (RFC5232).
BUT: I need a way to have the messages in one folder (also because of other clients accessing them) but differentiate notification. E.g. be silent for some messages, or even different signals/LED colors.
So I propose an option to map custom keywords to notification behavior. And also coloring of message list entry.

Thanks for your work,
  Lutz

Sorry there is no such thing in the app. Maybe will appear some day, I can't say. It's an nice idea though.
