So I got a new S7 Edge & I use my Gear S2 to see the notifications. Email being the main one, to see if it's spam or not. Worked great on my Note 5. I got a notification for each email so I could delete, archive or actually read each one. On marshmallow tho... it works if there is only 1 email. If there are 2 or more tho, I just get 1 notification for them all & what ever button I press effects them all. Like if I wake up have 12 emails, I hit the delete.. all 12 are deleted. I seem to get multiples at a time quite often so I have to actually open aqua mail to see what email has come now. Kinda defeating the whole purpose of my watch. LOL

As a side note... what ever happened with tizen support? I saw a post from 2 years ago saying:
https://www.aqua-mail.com/forum/index.php?topic=2419.msg10475#msg10475
I'm going to try to work on this after "swipe stuff to do stuff" that I've got planned, and I'm giving it higher priority than supporting Samsung's Gear 2 / Gear 2 Neo.

Reasons:

- For the Gear 2, it's necessary to write an application that runs on the watch itself, using an as yet unfamiliar to me Tizen OS

- Samsung now has an Android Wear device too. Is Tizen even going to be around much longer?

Supporting both would be great, but I've got to prioritize.

Aqua does absolutely nothing for Samsung's Tizen watches, so you're seeing Samsung's software mirror the app's status bar notifications.

And since status bar notifications can't contain individual (per-message) "cards" with "actions" on each card -- there is but one notification for all the messages -- you get what you get.

( aside: this is now possible in Android N, and already supported by Aqua )

Now on Wear devices, the system supports individual "cards" with "actions" on each card -- on Wear devices, it is possible to mark read or delete an individual message, or to reply via voice input.

---

What happens to plans to support Tizen?

Android Wear came out, very easy to work with, and with devices from multiple manufacturers (and more and more devices as time goes on).

Like I said it worked on my Note 5 with a notification for each email, just like you described on my Gear S2. On my new S7 Edge with the new marshmallow tho, it's just one notification mirrored onto the watch with the same exact settings.

It's sad there's no tizen support but no one else seems to be supporting them either. I just want it back how it was on my previous phone.

Oh it did, sorry missed it.

Did you have Android Wear app or Pebble app installed?

When the app sees those, it "enhances" its notifications for the Wear.

If yes, please try installing one of those two apps (and just run it once, nothing else), and if it helps, please let me know -- it would mean that Samsung's software for this smart watch can emulate Android Wear, so I'll want the app to make use of it.

If you never had Android Wear or Pebble app installed on the old phone, then -- well, what can I say? -- you had X working on Samsung Y and then X doesn't work on Samsung Z, even though the app is the same, and the difference is Samsung device Y vs. Samsung device Y.

If I were you, I'd be asking Samsung about why with Z it's different than with Y.

As for me, given that the app isn't aware of Tizen watches, I can't even imagine how it could have possibly worked on the old phone.

The only possibility I can imagine is if you had Android Wear app or Pebble app installed too, and so Aqua's notifications were "Android Wear enriched" and mirrored like that, as individual "cards" to the Tizen watch.

Wear and Pebble aside, does Samsung also want you to install some "watch app" on the phone before the watch is fully functional?

If installing Wear app helps, I will want to enable Wear enhancements when this Samsung app (assuming it exists) is installed.

Wow, amazing. Thanks for the info!

And kudos to Samsung for doing the smart thing and "emulating" Wear notifications.

Can you post a Google Play link to this:

"Yeah it has it's own lame software & store. Won't work with out it. :-)

And I will make a change to enable Wear enhancements upon detecting this Samsung app, so other users won't have to do it the hard way.

Done, the app now checks for that Gear app too to enable Wear enhancements.

Should work with Gear watches even when the Wear app is not installed.

Do you think you could try it out?

Install that & uninstall Android wear & see if it still works?
