hyperlink on images - signature

Hello. I have aquamail pro on my nexus 5.

I am trying to add links to my facebook, linkedin, youtube pages in the signature, using rich text editor.

I include the various button images and then try to add an hyperlink.

Unfortunately the link does not work properly. It only works if you click on the right bottom corner just outside the image I added the link to, and not on the image itself. Can you help me on that?

ALSO: there is a spurious underlined blank character after the image I cannot get rid of (you can see it only once the mail is received...): this is actually the only point in which the hyperlink does really work.

Where are you seeing this blank character?

Not in AquaMail, somewhere else (web mail, which provider, a mail app)?

Also re: not being able to click, can you send me a test message to kmansoft / gmail?

I just tried an inline image with a link, this is what AquaMail sent, you can see that the <img> is inside the <a>, as it should be:

hello thanks for your reply. I see the underlined character on gmail.

I m not able to find your gmail address here on the website.
if you send it to me or tell me where I can find it, I can send you a mail with the uncorrect signature.

ok as you suggested privately, i was errouneously using the icon on the bar instead of tapping on the image for inserting the link...
