Delete Mass Quantities of Messages

Many of my POP3 folders in Aqua, have thousands of messages in each.  I see that I can "select all", then do a delete in each folder, but I was wondering if I could easily delete by date-range or based off how old a message might be or even based on keeping only s certain amount of messages in each folder?

Answer is no.

What will happen,  when you will buy a new your device, to your local mails?

I don't understand what that has to do with anything.

New install on Galaxy S6

I'm trying to delete 3500 messages but when I "Select All" it only highlights those displayed in the window (about 5 emails). I click the trash can and it deletes just those five. How do I select all 3500?

I don't see the FAQ mentioned elsewhere.

Thanks. Is there a step by step instructions for deleting 3500 emails? I don't see how to "“Move to Deleted folder first” I only see how to select All which selects just 5 at a time.

Do it in your mail provider's web mail.

You'll get it done faster and easier (since it's just a web page, the messages won't have to be downloaded to your phone).

Go to App Settings > Message list > scroll down to option "Select 'All' means" > choose "Loaded messages" (instead of "Visible messages")

This is a *mobile* mail app.

It runs in a limited (network traffic, storage, performance) environment.

And so it -- by design -- downloads a limited number of recent messages at a time (and it's not unique with this app).

By default it's 25, you can change it by long pressing the account -> options and folders -> account options -> messages to sync.

But I still think you'll get it done easier and faster on the mail provider's web site (which doesn't need to download messages to your phone, at all).

25 is the default setting for how many messages the app will sync.
You can extend this amount up to 5000 in the Account settings:

Go to the app's main window (account list view)  > long press on Account name > Options and folders > Account options > 'Messages to sync" > choose "5000 messages"
Go back to account list view > tap on the wheel right of the respective Account name. This will force an account refresh.

Be aware that deleting "all selected messages" really means > delete "ALL (selected) downloaded / synced messages" even those (selected) messages which are not visible.

I strongly recommend to set the option "Messages to sync" afterwards back to a reasonable amount like 50 or100, but not much higher.
