Shrinking images "ask" option
« on: September 09, 2015, 03:22:12 am »
Hi folks,
since a long time I did not visit this forum.
Well I saw with pleasure that in the last pre builds the option to shrink images is given. Suggestion; may it be possible to add the "ask" option to choose, when sending the email, if the images should shrinked to large, medium, small or send as original size?
Thanks
Thomas

Unfortunately this couldn't be implemented right now because of some technical issues...

... and because of a general decision by Kostya:

That's sad. But this option should be disabled by default. When enabling a pop up which explains the consequences could show up.
IPhone solves that great. Anyway it's the desiccion in Kostyas. Meanwhile I will use image-shrink to forward images from the gallery to image-shrink and than to AM.

Right now:

- Just select one of the "size buckets" (I recommend "large", it's actually a lot smaller than original camera images on most phones...

...and the app will apply the resizing right when you attach images.

You can always change it right there on the compose screen via Menu -> Shrink images.

In the future:

- I am going to add "prompt when attaching".

It's very likely that it'll be enabled by default, with one of the choices as "No, and just shut up already" (= don't prompt anymore), so it can be turned off without having to hunt through the app's settings.

Yep, I saw that this morning!
I thought about thanking and congratulating you on that in the "Builds" thread, but then decided I am producing too much noise in the forums even without that. :)
