Notification Light Turns Itself Off

I'm using an IMAP Gmail account. When I get a notification the notification light comes on but then it automatically goes off about 10 minutes later. With other notifications like text and missed phone calls the notification light stays on until I dismiss it.

Have I missed something in Settings? Is there a reason that my Aquamail notifications are turning off after around 10 minutes?

No, it's the Android software (Samsung's flavored) in your phone doing it.

Manufacturers often make changes to Android, even the most basic things.

On HTC's the LED blinks for a limited time like that too. On Samsung's, only when the screen is on.

As for your comparison with missed calls and sms messages -- those apps are built into the phone's software and may be treated in a special way.

One more thought: I believe Samsung phones have some sort of "energy saving" mode (somewhere in the phone's settings app), maybe that's what it is.

Thanks for the reply. I'm not using a Samsung though. I have a Nexus 6 and I'm using Lightflow to make the LED operational. Sounds like some quirk with the phone. Thanks for an excellent app. Aquamail rocks.
