forward emails with complete headers
« on: August 11, 2015, 01:43:02 pm »
I receive spam that I forward to Spamcop.net. Spamcop require full headers in order to process the spam.

How can I forward an email including its full headers (without having to copy/paste the header manually)?

You can view message headers like this:

- In message view, Menu -> View -> Show headers

- In message list, under the "three dots" icon when you have exactly one message selected

In normal operation, AquaMail does not download all message headers. And even if it did, it wouldn't be putting them into message text (when forwarding), they're headers after all.

So please use "Show headers" as described above, there is a "Copy" button there.

Thanks for the reply.
This solution for copying the header is time consuming when reporting several spam emails to Spamcop.

Is there a way to forward email as attachment instead?

Yes, use a desktop email app like Thunderbird or Gmail desktop.
AquaMail does not provide what you want (nor other mobile email apps)

Solution is:
Use in paralel MailDroid or factory installed Android email client.
Save received mail as EML. It will be saved with full headers.
Forward it as an attachment now.

Wrong! At least on my Droid Razr M, the stock e-mail app neither shows nor stores full mail headers to EML file.

I wonder if your phone manufacturer installed MailDroid as the stock e-mail app on your phone to avoid the honor of being annoyed with the whining why that stock e-mail app is not working like your favorite MailDroid.  ;D

"Use MailDroid" is quickly becoming the most popular answer here :)

But why is K9 Mail undeservedly forgotten? :)

I use Note 2 and never used default installed email app, because it's too simple to manage simultaneously 16 email accounts.
I use in paralel MailDroid, AquaMail and ProfiMail.

Kostya, add save mail as eml to AquaMail and you will be the new king :)
Why is it so hard to understand that many people want to SAVE locally on device an email as a simple concrete file?
Even stock mail client can do it! But is too simple.
And only MailDroid can do it for time being...:)
