I have been successfully using Aquamail on my Galaxy S3 phone for some time, and I have set up 3 accounts on it. The server for my main account has around 8,000 messages in its Inbox, dating back to 2011.
All accounts were set up using POP3, but I was concerned about the possibility of reaching the memory size limits on the phone. I can find no way of deleting old messages on Aquamail. Am I missing a method of selecting all e-mails dated prior to a chosen date, which could then be deleted?
In the absence of this I had an idea... I deleted the account and instead created a similar IMAP account, thinking that this wouldn't download the messages, so shouldn't use as much of the phone's memory. However, I then realised that I still couldn't delete all old messages, and worse still, that if I did delete any they would be removed from the server so not accessible via other means (e.g. Outlook on my PC). I therefore decided to delete this new account and instead create a POP3 account identical to the original.
However, the account does not download all messages. I repeatedly tried to sync all messages. Each time it might only sync around 30, and they were old mesages, dated around 2013 (interesting that they weren't the oldest, nor the newest). After eventually downloading about 300 messages Aquamail stopped reading any more messages for this account. The other accounts are working correctly, and I can send messages through the main account, but I can't receive any more. I have checked my server via internet access and confirmed that all 8,000 messages are still there.
Any suggestions?
