Exchange Calendar Notifications Not Appearing On Wear

I have AquaMail setup with a corporate Exchange server via EWS. Mail, contacts, and calendars are being delivered as expected, but notifications for calendar events do appear on my Wear watch (LG Urbane with 5.1.1 OS) despite showing on the phone (Moto X 2nd gen currently on 5.1, but same behaviour on 5.0). Mail notifications do appear on both devices. Note that the correct calendars are selected in the Android Wear and the Calendar apps.

I have found that if I setup an Exchange calendar account via the Android OS and select that calendar in Android Wear and the Calendar apps, the notifications appear on the watch as expected.

I have not tested this on my LG G Watch R with the 4.x version of Wear OS. However, I did not have this problem with that device - could this be an issue with Wear 5.1.1?

I never thought about showing calendar notifications on Wear watches.

Are we talking about reminders (that's probably the system Calendar's job)? Or events themselves?

I don't understand what you mean - the native Android calendar app does support reminder notifications on Wear. Google has that working, but when an AquaMail calendar is selected in the Wear app, the notifications never make it to the watch.

Well, my app's job is to sync calendar events -- with reminders -- into system Calendar storage.

And I guess it does that, if you can see your events in *a* Calendar app -- *any* Calendar app -- since the system Calendar storage is accessible by all apps.

Do you see your events -- synced by AquaMail -- in *a* Calendar app?

Do they have reminders?

Maybe Google only implemented Wear reminders for events synced from Google Calendar?

AquaMail does not produce calendar notifications since this should be done be by the system calendar app or *a* Calendar app -- *any* Calendar app --.

Therefore the issue is outside AquaMail.

AquaMail does not, ever, at all, "produce calendar notifications on the phone".

AquaMail's job is to:

- Receive calendar events from the server

- Store them in the Android Calendar Provider, a centralized "database" where all calendar events, from all apps, are stored, and can be read by all apps as well.

- With reminders, if a reminder is set on the server event -- meaning some data associated with the event's other data when it's stored.

You hadn't mentioned specifically if the events synced by AquaMail have reminders when you look in the Calendar app -- but I think, based on what you wrote, that they do.

Well, I just did a test -- creating an event with a reminder in Office 365, syncing it to the phone via AquaMail.

The reminder did trigger on my Wear Watch (as well as the phone).

And since Android devices (phones, watches) always work in a consistent, predictable, way (hahaha!!!) -- things should not be any different with any other Wear device (mine is a the basic LG model) or phone (I was testing on a Nexus 5).

PS - Does anyone know how to remove the "Enable Google Now, NOW" prompt in the Android Wear app?

I've seen it dozens of times, I'm not interested in Google Now, don't want it.

How do I tell the Android Wear app to stop prompting me?
