Adding an outlook 365 account
« on: June 15, 2015, 01:08:26 pm »
Hello, I am having trouble adding my workplace outlook 365 account and my IT department cannot help me! My friend added it for me before (after a lot of searching on various forums) but she can't remember what she did, and my email username changed so I had to delete the account from Aquamail and add it again.
My username is in the form k123456(at)kcl.ac.uk. When I go to manual set up here is what I have been told to put (by my IT dept):
Server name outlook(dot)office365(dot)com
Security SSL accept any
Server port 993 (or 443? I tried both)
Authentication - not sure which is right, have tried both options
Login - my k123456(at)kcl.ac.uk
The manual set up asks for EWS shared mailbox, I don't know what this is and have left it blank.
I would so appreciate help with this! I like Aquamail and would like to continue using it, but obviously can't if I can't get my account on there! My yahoo personal account is on there and works fine,as did my work outlook account until I removed it and cannot get it back on. Thanks so much if you are able to help.

PS the error messages I get are:
If I use port 993 Account check error Exchange mail server (EWS) Network error, please make sure the data is correct
Or, if I use port 443 Exchange mail server EWS: Authentication error HTTP/1.1 401 unauthorized. Please make sure the data is correct.
Thanks again for helping.

I have actually resolved this issue after trying one more time - what I did above was correct, I must have made a mistake the first time, and I hope this info helps someone else trying to get their outlook account onto Aquamail!!
