Cannot Create New Account
« on: December 30, 2015, 10:35:57 pm »
I have installed AquaMail but failed to create an account of type Internet - IMAP or POP3 using either auto or manual methods.

Problem is that details entered include email address, password, server addresses & port numbers. I assume the AquaMail tries to log on to the server using the entered email address and password but my ISP requires a separate Username to log on so fails.

If I enter the correct Username instead of the email address, the AquaMail reports invalid email address (no @ I assume)

Is there a way to get around this so that I can create an account and use AquaMail?

Thanks

Hi harv,

Please try the following procedure:

> Menu > Add an account > enter your email address (incl.  ...@your-ISP.com) and password > press MANUAL
• screenshot #1

> on the next screen "New account: Incoming server" > scroll down to "Login" to enter your Username (without @) and password > press NEXT
• screenshot #2

> on the next screen "New account: Outgoing server" > scroll down to "Login" to enter your Username (without @) and password > press NEXT

> on the next screen "Almost done" > check/edit your name / account name > press "SAVE"

Thanks MikeOne, that's sorted it  :)

Stupidly I had not scrolled down the page to see the login & password fields, and with no scroll bar had not realised they were there.

Cheers
