Tap area in split mode

Could you reduce the tap area in Split Mode?
I mean, I clearly tap in the middle of the new message in the left pane, but it keeps just starring or selecting my messages.

I understand that this tap area is comfy for the single view, but split view reduces the elements so much that its not helpful anymore.

I used to get a lot of complaints about "hard to hit the star icon".

Can you clarify --

- The device

- Vertical or horizontal split

- Whether the message list is in "compact" mode (hiding some of the info when it gets very narrow).

A screenshot would be perfect.

Oh, and btw -- if you don't use "stars" much, you can hide them in the message list. App settings -> message list -> stars.

OH, nice, thanks, both of you!

After removing the star, the left area is still a bit sensitive, but the part where the star was is perfect for selecting messages.
And yeah I understand that there are people with big hands and stuff.

- It's in compact, as far as I can tell.
- Screenshot:  Attached, cannot remove the PNG, IrfanView loves to mess up PNG saves.
