Connections not being released?
« on: July 27, 2015, 10:55:41 pm »
Hi,

I have been using Aquamail on my Nexus 7 for some time for two of my email accounts. I really like it and have just upgraded to Pro so as to add a third account.

However, the server for this account limits the number of connections per user to 20. When I try to set up the new account I'm getting a message from the server that I have exceeded the allowed number of connections. I already had connections to the server from my computer and from K9 on the tablet, plus I initially made some errors in the setup, so may have initially used up the connections. But I've now closed down mail on my PC, turned off automatic synchronisation on my tablet, rebooted the tablet and my router. But I'm still getting the 'too many connections' error, and can't now connect from my PC either. Is is possible that Aquamail is failing to release the connections? (This is nothing to do with number of folders as I haven't set up the account at all!).

Any help appreciated!

Thanks,

Barbara

Not to my knowledge...

As far as I know, the app closes (gracefully, most of the time) its network connections.

The server's logic should have some sort of timeout to it, has enough time passed yet?

Hi Kostya,

Thanks for the quick reply. I've just looked at more settings on my tablet and discovered that K9 was still connecting and had too many 'push' folders. I've now turned that off and it's working!
