Messages "appear" to be sent from a different Account

I am new to Aquamail.  I have set up two accounts (one a gmail account the other a POP3/SMTP).  Both accounts seem to receive and send.  G-mail is OK but when sending mail from my other account it appears to receivers that the message was sent from g-mail!  However if they reply it is sent to the correct address!

In the compose, "New" window on my phone the account message indication shows the correct account in a large font and the gmail address below in smaller font - Problem!  The gmail window shows the gmail address twice - Fine!  I have tried all parameters that I can find to change this but nothing seems to change this.  I have even deleted the gmail account completely but it still remains as the sending account "alias".

I am sure this is something very simple so could somebody help?

Did you set both accounts to the same Gmail account or are you using accounts from different mail providers?

I am using different accounts.  BUT I have found the problem.  In the basic page for the initial account setup it asks for "Your Name for outgoing messages" .  This had the gmail address set.  I set up the gmail account first and it must have retained this by default when setting the second account.  I have now changed this to the correct name and everything works.  You cannot change this parameter in the program itself.

You can edit account name in the app is as follows

Go to main window = account list view > long press on Account name > choose option "Rename the account"

Pwatkins is mentioning the sender name as it appears in account creation view. You are speaking about something else.

I think that the sender name which appears in account creation view (> screenshot 1) is the same as it appears in account settings (long press on Account name > Rename the account) > screenshot 2

Well, the initial value for "your name" is taken from your "profile" as reported by Android...

And that *probably* comes from the device's main @gmail account (added during initial setup).

I can only assume that you've not set a name there...
