Strange problem with message sync.
« on: April 01, 2015, 01:05:03 am »
At work, we recently switched from Rackspace to Gmail. I set up my email again after everything was switched and it works fine except for one problem. It shows my previous emails in order from the day we switched (3/27) to current. However, if I look before the 27th, it jumps all the way back to December 19th. The only way I can rectify this is if I sync all messages in my inbox. I don't really want to have to do that because it makes it run a bit slower. Any ideas why this might be happening? I've tried messing with some settings but the only thing that works is syncing the entire inbox.

I have another Gmail account through this app and I do not have this problem so I'm at a loss. I've tried deleting and re-adding the account to no avail.

I just found the setting to sync for number of days rather than number of messages and this is working fine now. Sorry I didn't see this setting before making the thread. I thought I had gone exhausted all options but should have known better, given the vast number of settings in this fabulous app.

... you will ever find "one more option"  in AquaMail's settings  ;-)

This type of thing can easily happen when moving old messages between folders, or when changing Gmail labels, or when using Google's INBOX (for some reason).

IMAP sorts messages by "when filed", so an old message *just moved* into a folder will be seen as recent.

And yes, the option to have Aqua actually search for recent messages by a date range (explained above) was added specifically for this case.
