WIFI Sync problem

Hi,

Today, I've come across a weird issue on my phone. POP3/SMTP syncing is not working on WIFI but works via 4G mobile access. The error on both POP3/SMTP is;

Account check error

Incoming mail server (POP3): Error connecting.
Outgoing mail server (SMTP): Error connecting.

Please make sure the data is correct.


No settings have been changed. Additionally, WIFI is working in other mobile applications on the phone (i.e. Google chrome - I can load webpages fine etc). WIFI is also working on other devices around the house.

I've rebooted the phone, refreshed the WIFI DHCP lease, rebooted the router. All with no success in resolving this.

Any ideas on this as I'm stumped?

Does Google Chrome connect to same PO3 / SMTP servers? Somehow I doubt that.

Aqua does not make any distinction between WiFi vs. mobile 4G vs. mobile GPRS etc. It just calls standard Java TCP/IP functions, that's it.

Yet, please check AquaMail settings -> network -> enable (or toggle) "DNS resolution", perhaps it's an IPv6 issue...

I have absolutely no idea what's going on with this phone.

It appears to be isolated to my WIFI connection at home and only at home. Running out of troubleshooting ideas to be honest.

How's this?
Google Chrome connects to the POP3/SMTP server on http yet I can't ping/resolve the mail server from other apps?!?

AquaMail still does not fetch/send unfortunately. The other morning I awoke to see synchronization issues presented on the account. Tried your DNS resolution toggle, no luck.

That's nonsense. "POP3" on "http" -- no such thing. Google Chrome -- is not a mail app, it's a web browser.

It sounds like you already tried apps like K9, Mail Droid, InnoMail, whatever...

And they're all unable to connect to this mail server, and it's isolated to your home WiFi.,

This tells me that the origin of this issue is not AquaMail itself -- but rather your home Internet provider and/or the WiFi router itself.

Sorry, this is not something I'll be able to assist with. Please try taking it up with your Internet provider.
