Notification
« on: January 22, 2015, 09:02:17 pm »
I just bought a Dell venue 8 tablet.  Runs on kitkat.  The problem I observed is when new message arrives,  it notifies through ring tone,  even though all notification are off.  And more Surprisingly,  it continue ringing and I find no way to stop it.  It does not happen every time,  but randomly.  I tried to isolate various situation,  but I feel it is totally random.  Is there am issue with aqua or something with my new tab.  My aqua version is 1.5.1.13

First, as far as "continue ringing" -- Aqua never asks for the sound to loop (there is a flag that an app can set on a notification).

But I have had reports of this, esp. with a custom sound (e.g. an .mp3 or .wav or something).

As for the sound playing at all -- please check global AquaMail settings *and* per-account "special settings" where you may have an override for notifications just for this account (long press -> Special settings).

As usual, feel free to capture the issue in a debug log, and email to kmansoft / gmail -- and let me know the time when the issue occurred.
