How to prevent Aquamail from starting at boot time
« on: January 03, 2015, 05:23:43 pm »
Hi,

I'd like to configure Aquamail in such a way that it doesn't start when I boot my phone but only when I start it explicitely. A,d when I start it, I'd like it to use the 'Push Mail' feature (until I kill Aquamail). I didn't manage to get the things working this way: in particular, everytime that I start (boot) my phone, Aquamail restarts.

Thanks in advance for any hint. Cheers,

Michel

Can you explain what you mean by "starts"?

The app's UI suddenly jumping on the screen -- or the app's process being created?

If the former, it's a weird bug.

If the latter, not something I can help with. Aqua listens to certain system events to do its work, in particular, it has to set the scheduled time sync events (if you have scheduled sync enabled) after a reboot. Also home screen widgets -- when the launcher starts up, it will ask all apps to bring their widgets up to date.

Thanks for you answer. As you guessed, I wanted to say that the app process was created (and the app seen as running in Settings->Applications). From your explanation, I understand that this is the result of having the widget on the home screen. I can leave with it, no problem!
