Widget text cut off at bottom
« on: December 21, 2014, 11:21:47 am »
There was some discussion of this in the development threads. Still seeing the bottom half of widget text cut off but have noted it only applies to the frameless widget. Others are fine

And the device?

And launcher?

And launcher settings (e.g. custom grid density, like 5*5)?

It seems that on the frameless widget the distance between envelope and text "home" is too large...compared to the upper widget.

The standard grid is fewer items than that.

Yes, because I'm intentionally trying to make it look more like a home screen shortcut (icon), so it's different from the other widgets.

So basically it's about me having to decide between

(a) the frameless widget looking more like home screen icons when using the default Android grid

(b) fixing this special case for Apex's more dense grid, and making (a) worse

I think (a) is preferable to (b), just because of the number of users who use the standard grid (with default and third party launchers) vs. those who use third party launchers and a more dense grid.

Kostya
That is clear and makes sense. Now understand your previous comments about nagging the developer of the launcher to ensure size settings work for widgets as well. I'll live with the translucent ones (just so long as i don't have to use material design!) :)

I agree with your suggestion (a)

Right, I was just going to suggest using a different theme -- not "frameless" (since it's cut off) and not "material" (if it's not your thing) -- but that still leaves three more, and two of them are dark.
